Andrew Childs BSc
Principal
Andrew graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand, in
1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Zoology.
Having started his professional career as an Exploration
Geologist in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, Andrew
moved to petroleum geology and geophysics with Perth-based
Ranger Oil Australia (later renamed Petroz NL). He gained
technical experience with Petroz as a Geoscientist, and later
commercial experience as the Commercial Assistant to the
Managing Director.
During
the downturn in the oil industry in the late 1980’s, Andrew left
the industry temporarily to manage an agricultural company of
which he was a major shareholder.
Andrew
returned to the industry in 1990 as the General Manager of a
highly successful geotechnical consulting group. This enabled
him begin the process of establishing a vast network of contacts
in the oil exploration and production industry, and ultimately
led him to a career in Recruitment and Human Resources.
Andrew
worked with one of Perth’s leading human resource consultancies
before founding Resource Recruitment in 1995. In addition
to his role as Principal of Resource Recruitment, Andrew is
extensively involved in investment and corporate governance
activities in the oil and gas industry.
He is a Non-Executive Director of Stratic Energy Corporation (an
oil and gas exploration and production company listed on the TSX
and AIM) and a member of the Petroleum Exploration Society of
Australia and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
Cameron Burchell
General Manager
Cameron graduated from Edith Cowan University in 1990 with a
Bachelor of Business in Human Resource Management and Industrial
Relations. After graduation, he worked as a Paralegal in
both the private and public sectors before commencing a career
in his field of study in 1996.
Since 1996, Cameron has gained extensive experience in the
recruitment of professional and management-level personnel in
the resources and engineering sectors. He has been
employed as a Recruitment Advisor, Human Resources Advisor and
Recruitment Manager with mining, engineering and service
companies; and as a Senior Consultant with several recruitment
firms specialising in the oil and gas, mining and engineering
sectors.
As the
General Manager of Resource Recruitment, Cameron now specialises
in recruitment for the upstream oil and gas sector. In
particular, he focuses on executive, management and senior
professional positions.
Cameron is a member of the Petroleum Exploration Society of
Australia.
Nicola Johnston
Senior Consultant, Asia Pacific
Nicola Johnston has a diverse background across industries
including oil and gas. Her initial foray in the oil gas industry
was as a Technical Assistant (TA) in Melbourne in 1987 for
Petrofina and then as a TA in Perth for Western Mining’s
Petroleum Division.
Nicola graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of
Commerce (Public Relations) in 1996. After graduation
Nicola worked both domestically and internationally in public
relations, marketing and communications strategy for various
organizations. In 2005, Nicola combined her early career
experience as a TA in the oil gas industry with her extensive
experience in marketing and public relations in recruiting
within the upstream oil and gas industry.
Joining
Resource Recruitment in March 2007, Nicola brings valuable
international consultancy experience specialising in the
placement of upstream oil gas drilling engineers, drilling
supervisors, drilling superintendents, exploration and drilling
managers, geologists and geophysicists, materials and logistics
and HSE personnel.
Nicola
is located in Kuala Lumpur where she is integral in expanding
Resource Recruitment’s business across Asia Pacific region.
Member of PESA (Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia) and
SPA (Society of Petroleum Engineers).
Rosalind Wilson
Office
Administrator
Ros holds a Bachelor of Education degree, and has post-graduate
work experience in commercial environments. This includes
considerable experience in sales and marketing, logistics and
administration.
In her role at Resource Recruitment, Ros has a broad range of
accounts, administration and payroll responsibilities (our
payroll includes personnel working on contract in client
companies).
